Charenton to Houma, Louisiana in the Rain

Saturday, February 18, 2012

We got up this morning to the eminent prospect of thunderstorms.  My thought was maybe if we move on we can get out from under the storms.  Before we got out of the parking lot it was raining cats and dogs.  We grabbed a couple of cats for LaKisha to play with and took off.

We drove for about 3 hours and managed to get about 60 miles down the road.  There were times that it was raining so hard the wipers could not keep up and we had to stop and wait for it to clear up.  Long story short, we made it to Houma in the rain and found another gracious Walmart to put us up for the night.  It finally stopped raining at about sunset.  Lucy took a few photos, but it was not a terribly interesting day unless you are fascinated with rain.  I did hear a report that they got about 2 1/2 inches of rain on this day.
